Oral Diagnostics – Dental X-rays
Properly conducted diagnostics of the oral cavity are crucial across all areas of dentistry. We all know—it’s better to prevent than to treat, and if treatment is necessary—it’s better to start it as early as possible.
Various diagnostic methods used in dental offices aim to provide an accurate picture of the patient’s oral and periodontal health, enabling precise detection of any diseases. The basic forms of oral diagnostics include examination under a dental microscope and radiological imaging.
Interview and Basic Oral Examination
Only regular visits allow for maintaining an optimal oral environment and prevent serious health issues long-term.
Regardless of the patient’s concern, conducting a thorough medical interview is key. It helps the dentist learn about the patient’s symptoms, past diseases, dietary habits, and treatment expectations even before beginning the examination.
Armed with this information, the dentist proceeds to visually inspect the oral cavity. Depending on the patient’s issue—such as caries, prosthetic needs, or others—the scope of the exam may differ.
In our clinic, all exams are performed with a dental microscope, which often reveals issues invisible to the naked eye.
3D Computed Tomography (CBCT)
3D CT is the most precise diagnostic tool available in dentistry. It is essential for implant treatment planning, since only a three‑dimensional image of the jaw or mandible enables the dentist to assess anatomical structures and determine the exact position, diameter, and length of implants.
CBCT is also often necessary for endodontic therapy or to clarify findings from standard X‑rays.
Our clinic is equipped with a high-end CBCT scanner, allowing patients to complete the entire diagnostic process on-site.
Dental X-ray Examinations
X‑rays are a permanent fixture in dental diagnostics. They are taken before endodontic or prosthetic treatment, or when surgical intervention is considered necessary. Dental X‑rays include panoramic, periapical, and cephalometric images.
Panoramic Dental X-ray (Pantomogram)
Panoramic imaging is one of the most important exams ordered by dentists. It provides a comprehensive view of teeth, the mandible, temporomandibular joints, and maxillary sinuses, supporting diagnostics for surgeons, endodontists, and orthodontists. Panoramic X‑rays help evaluate bone structure, root canal fillings, and progression of caries.
Periapical X‑rays
The main advantage of periapical images is their high precision covering a small, specific area—typically up to four teeth. They are indispensable when planning root-canal treatment, assessing caries severity, inflammation, or checking implants and fillings used in conservative therapy.
All our patients receive a fully professional approach and comprehensive oral diagnostics at Esthetic Dental Studio. Thanks to our expertise and advanced diagnostic technology, we can identify the source of your symptoms and plan effective treatment.
Take Care of Your Oral Health
The condition of your oral mucosa is a barometer of your overall health. However, most people only visit a dentist when tooth pain or swollen lymph nodes appear. The key is regular check-ups that allow early detection of disease.
At routine visits, the dentist performs detailed physical and imaging examinations, detecting even subtle signs of gum disease.
This enables a personalized treatment plan combining preventive and therapeutic actions to address any issues. Don’t wait—take this step to enjoy a healthy, bright smile for years!
